WILLEMSTAD.-The first humanitarian products for the people of Venezuela based on the treaty that Curaçao signed on March 15 on behalf of the Dutch Kingdom with the United States, arrived yesterday at Curaçao. The cargo arrived on a TUI https://www.tui.co.uk/  commercial plane at around 7:00 p.m. at the International Airport of Curaçao. This delivery consists of 12 pallets (wooden pallets), of which 6 arrived yesterday and the rest will arrive today _ contains 4 combos / health kits for emergency cases, which were manufactured in the Netherlands by the manufacturer MEG. Also integrated by medical remedies and accessories, among others: plaster, gauze, examination gloves, thermometer and injections; that can help people in need of medical attention and affected by emergencies. These boxes / emergency kits can cover the needs of 40,000 thousand people for a period of 3 long months.

According to the Government, providing humanitarian aid products to Venezuela means a historic moment for our island, since in this way Curaçao demonstrates its willingness to serve as a logistic collection center for the effective delivery of humanitarian aid to the Venezuelan people. According to a press release from the Government of Curaçao: “Curaçao prepared properly to fulfill this role, we have training, process and structures in place, so that the Government can facilitate the transport of humanitarian aid in a professional manner and on the basis of international demands, however, the transport of humanitarian aid will take place only when circumstances permit and the distribution in Venezuela can happen peacefully. The Government of Curaçao hopes that circumstances will soon improve, since it is extremely difficult for Venezuelans, the vulnerable situation that Venezuela suffers and lives today.”
