WILLEMSTAD.- Last Friday in the early hours of the morning, the Personnel of the Department of Traffic in cooperation with Police Department, CurMil, KMar, Customs and Public Ministry held a traffic control on the Pater Eeuwensweg. This control was mainly directed to vehicles whose drivers were under the influence of alcohol and the collection of fines not yet paid.

91 vehicles were checked and the Public Ministry collected Fl. 1055 in fines, and / or payment arrangements were made with 27 drivers that appeared on the list of unpaid fines.

Apart from the collection of fines, a total of 24 infractions were registered for the following infractions:

1) Driving a vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

2) Driving without the taxes of the vehicles being paid.

3) Drive without valid insurance.

4) Driving without a valid revision card.

5) Driving without the use of the safety belt.

6) Drive without a helmet.

7) Driving the car with dark glasses.

Even a driver driving under the influence was stopped.

These controls will continue because a lot of fines imposed over the years are not being paid.
