WILLEMSTAD.- The Ombudsman of Curaçao Keursley Concepción completed a survey to assess how the Community experiences government service. Some government services rate quite negative. Among them, the Police Force, Neighborhood Houses, Environment and Nature Management (Thousand), ROP (Urban Planning Department) and Voogdijraad (Office of Child Custody). Among those who qualify well, mention is made of Kranshi (Prefecture) and also Ontvanger, (Collection Office).
In this survey 11 questions were asked that have to do with different aspects of the service that the citizen receives, such as telephone accessibility of the governmental apparatus and the length of attention to requests. The result of the survey gives valuable information to be able to continue working in a directed manner on the Government service. The goal of the survey is to know how the community of Curaçao thinks about the functioning of eight government organizations. These organizations were: Bureau Rijbewijzen (driver’s licenses), Neighborhood Houses (Ban Bario Bek Neighborhood), Korps Politie Curaçao (Police Corps), Environmental and Nature Management (Thousand), Nieuwe Belastingorganisatie (fiscal department), Ontvanger Curaçao, Publieke Zaken (Kranshi), Ruimtelijke Ordenning in Planning (ROP) and Voogdijraad.
For a more directed representation, we try to control the number of men and women, age and nationality. The number of people interviewed was 396.
The questions in the survey were:
-How was the availability of the organization via email, Internet and telephone?
-Total time the Organization took to provide the service?
-How was the knowledge of the matter on behalf of the Organization employee?
-How was the service of the Organization?
-The organization took my ideas and complaints seriously?
-The Organization showed me in a clear way my rights and obligations?
– The Organization provided me with correct information and that it was directed to my case?
-The Organization attended my case actively and with the goal of obtaining information?
-And, The Organization treated me with respect and treated my personal data confidentially?
