WILLEMSTAD.- Yesterday morning the demonstration that “Forsa Revolushonario Kòrsou” (FRK) had organized took place. The group of concerned citizens were walking across the bridge in the direction of Punda where a call was made to all those who lost their jobs, those who are in a difficult situation and the whole community in general, to attend and form a fist to strike against the measures that the Rhuggenaath cabinet is planning to take. Prime Minister Rhuggenaath himself went outside and received the letter that the group handed him.

The attendance was not very massive, in the sense that many people did not attend the call. The three people who headed the organization; Lucho Rosales, Calvin Jansen and Tony Passial, gave their speeches explaining to the people who responded to the call, what the goal was.

The Prime Minister thanked the demonstrators who made their protest in an orderly manner, indicating that the Government respects all expressions of feelings of the people. Also, Mr. Rhuggenaath showed his understanding for the concern expressed. Calvin Jansen asked the Premier to put his hand on his heart and remember what happened to Curaçao in previous years, in the time that former Prime Minister Pourier (RIP) pushed for the Law of Proxy created many problems for the country. The thing that caused the most pain is the fact that their families left Curaçao due to the situation that arose. Premier Rhuggenaath said that his Government is well aware of what happened in the past.

FRK explains that they organized the protest because they categorized the current situation as a very dangerous one, since the government would have the intention of using anti-democratic powers to eliminate the authority of Parliament.
