WILLEMSTAD.- The Board of Supervisory Directors of the Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Martin announced an independent investigation on April 19th, considering the seriousness of the issue related to the facts and circumstances within which, among others, confidential information was handled by the Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Martin shared with third parties.

This is the case of information against Neysa Schoop-Isenia, candidate at that time for Minister of Economic Development, the Central Bank says that based on the facts and circumstances the Supervisory Board was able to assess the extent to which it acted within the legal frameworks of the Bank and the statutes of Curaçao.

For the investigation of the facts, the methodology was used by means of which, in addition to studying the documents, interviews were conducted with the members of the Executive Board and with several employees of the Bank.

Meanwhile the investigation is in its final phase and the Supervisory Board received provisional final reports. As part of listening also to the reactions (listening and being heard) last Monday, the Supervisory Board gave the members of the Executive Board the opportunity to give their comments before the Supervisory Board could take a stand on the issue.
