WILLEMSTAD.- Last week SOAB reported after intense control, that the financial responsibility of the SONA Foundation, in regards to HNO from 2013 to 2016, is completely in order. The plan is that, based on this, this same year, it will also end with the responsibility of 2017. The SOAB reports correspond to SONA’s repeated statement that all the construction and internal adjustment expenses of the new hospital are according to the budget of the project, as agreed by the Government of Curaçao in 2013.
At the end of August, SOAB concluded the financial responsibility of 2013 and 2014 in a positive tone, and last week the financial responsibility of 2015 and 2016 continued. This gives SONA the possibility to hold the ministry of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN) responsible for the correct distribution of the financial means that he received, within the framework of the project for the new hospital, which corresponds to the financial reports of every four and six months that SONA sent to the Government.
In accordance with its mandate, SOAB sent the GMN minister “the certified summaries of income and expenses of the HNO project” correlative to the years from 2013 to 2016, adding the signed statements of control and the account statement with its conclusions. SOAB concludes that the financial administration is a true reflection of what it received and spent in favor of the HNO project. The story indicates at the same time that the payments for the project of the Hospital during these four years, took place in a responsible way and completely according to the instructions. That means that SOAB did not get anything irregular in the financial management that SONA has taken.
In addition, SOAB has planned before the end of the year, along with the SONA external accountants, to finalize in the same way, the financial responsibility of 2017 as well.
